Understanding Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition that primarily affects the face. Patients typically experience persistent redness, visible blood vessels (telangiectasias), flushing, and, in some cases, papules or pustules
.
While topical and oral treatments can help manage symptoms, vascular lasers and advanced light-based technologies offer a targeted approach that can significantly reduce erythema and visible vessels by selectively treating the abnormal blood vessels responsible for rosacea's appearance.

Common Features of Rosacea
Persistent Erythema
Ongoing facial redness, often concentrated on the cheeks, nose, chin and forehead.
Telangiectasia
Visible small blood vessels and broken capillaries that contribute to the red appearance.
Flushing Episodes
Sudden episodes of intense redness triggered by heat, stress, spicy foods or alcohol.
Skin Sensitivity
Heightened reactivity and discomfort that can affect quality of life and confidence.

How Laser Treatment Works
Laser treatment of rosacea is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis. Specific wavelengths of light are absorbed by haemoglobin in the abnormal blood vessels.
The absorbed energy is converted into heat, which gently coagulates the vessel walls. Over the following weeks, the body naturally clears these treated vessels, leading to a progressive reduction in redness and visible capillaries.
Different lasers are chosen according to the depth and size of the vessels, the patient’s skin type, and the overall clinical presentation. At VIP Laser Clinic Med Spa, we use a combination of outstanding Alma laser technologies to achieve precise, effective and safe results.

Outstanding Alma Laser Technologies
The following advanced Alma systems are used, alone or in combination, to address the full spectrum of rosacea presentations with safety and efficacy across skin types.
1. Dye VL — Narrow-band 500–600 nm (AFT Technology
The Dye VL handpiece delivers a refined, laser-like spectrum optimised for haemoglobin absorption. It is exceptionally effective for treating superficial vascular lesions, diffuse facial redness and telangiectasia associated with erythematotelangiectatic rosacea.
-
Selective photothermolysis of abnormal vessels
-
Advanced Fluorescence Technology (AFT) for efficient energy delivery
-
Integrated cooling for greater patient comfort
-
Suitable for facial redness, flushing and visible capillaries
-
Minimal downtime in most cases
Best for: Diffuse redness & superficial vessels
2. Dye SR — Narrow-band 550–650 nm (AFT Technology)
Dye SR complements vascular treatment by addressing pigmentary concerns and supporting overall skin rejuvenation. Its spectrum is optimised for melanin while still contributing to improved skin tone and clarity in patients with rosacea-related dyschromia.
-
Targets superficial pigmented lesions and uneven tone
-
Supports clearer, more even-looking skin
-
Can be combined with vascular treatments for comprehensive results
-
In-Motion™ technique available for enhanced comfort
Useful in multi-modal rosacea protocols
Best for: Tone refinement & pigment support
3. Long Pulse Nd:YAG Laser — 1064 nm – Deep Vascular Targeting
The long-pulsed 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser provides deeper tissue penetration and lower melanin absorption, making it particularly valuable for larger or deeper vessels and for patients with darker skin types (Fitzpatrick IV–VI) where shorter wavelengths carry higher pigment risk.
-
Deep penetration to target larger-calibre vessels
-
Safer profile for higher Fitzpatrick skin types
-
Effective for stubborn or deeper facial telangiectasia
-
Lower risk of epidermal injury compared with shorter wavelengths
Complements superficial vascular treatments
Best for: Deeper vessels & darker skin types
4. ClearLift Q-Switch Nd:YAG — 1064 nm / 532 nm – Fractional Non-Ablative
ClearLift is Alma’s high-powered Q-switched Nd:YAG platform, often described as a “lunchtime facelift.” It delivers ultra-short pulses that stimulate collagen and improve skin quality with virtually no downtime, while also helping manage residual redness and support overall skin health in patients with rosacea.
-
Fractional non-ablative Q-switched technology
-
Stimulates collagen remodelling and skin tightening
-
Improves texture, tone and residual vascular appearance
-
Safe for delicate areas and all skin types
-
Zero to minimal downtime – true “lunchtime” procedure
Best for: Skin quality, collagen & residual redness

Why Choose Laser Treatment for Rosacea?
When performed with the right technology and expertise, laser therapy offers targeted, lasting improvement with a favourable safety profile.
-
Precise Vascular Targeting — Selective photothermolysis destroys abnormal vessels while sparing surrounding healthy tissue, directly addressing the root of redness and telangiectasia.
-
Significant Visible Improvement — Many patients achieve a substantial reduction in persistent erythema and visible vessels after a course of treatment, often in the range of 50–75%.
-
Customised Multi-Technology Approach — Combining Dye VL, Long Pulse Nd:YAG and ClearLift allows treatment to be tailored to vessel depth, skin type and individual goals.
-
Safe Across Skin Types — The 1064 nm wavelength and carefully controlled parameters enable effective treatment even in patients with higher Fitzpatrick skin types.
-
Minimal Downtime — Most sessions involve only temporary redness or mild swelling. ClearLift in particular allows patients to return to daily activities immediately.
-
Expert-Led Care — Every treatment is performed personally by Prof. Dr Pretidev Ramdawon, ensuring the highest standards of safety, precision and clinical judgement.
